Bucket collection for humanitarian disaster

Shoppers in Strand Street today (Saturday) are being asked to spare some change for the victims of the flooding in Pakistan.

Millions pf people have been left homeless by the downpours in July, and aid agencies are desperate for more money to help those affected rebuild their lives.

UNICEF on Mann is a new charity which has been set up to try and help with specific emergency appeals, directing funds through the organisation in the United Kingdom.

Chairman Voirrey Collister says today's bucket collection is for one of the largest humanitarian disasters there has been anywhere in the world for decades:
