School celebrates first quarter century

Ballakermeen's Silver Jubilee celebrations are kicking off this evening (Friday), with the Balla Ball.

The high school opened in 1985, after the closure of Ballakermeen Junior High School, and the event is reuniting ex-students from the last 25 years.

It's been organised by the school's Silver Jubilee Committee, which is made up of former and current students, as well as teachers.

There are162 names on the guest list, and those people have come to the Island from as far away as Canada and Dubai.

Headteacher Adrienne Burnett says a lot of work has gone into organising the evening:
