Manx book on short list for award

A book released by a Manx independent publisher is in with a chance of winning a prestigious literary prize.

'The Angels of Mona Terrace', by Steve Wood, is a story set in Manchester and the Isle of Man in the 1970s.

It's one of ten books nominated in the fiction section for the Portico Prize, which is the only award exclusively for books about, or set mainly in, the north of England.

Linda Mann, from Priory Press, says she's thrilled Steve has been nominated, and feels the book deserves wider recognition:
