Palatine becomes teaching practice

by isleofman.com 24th September 2010

The Palatine Group Practice has become the first on the Island to achieve a teaching qualification.

Dr Peter Griffiths is an authorised GP trainer, and Dr El Bassiouni is the first GP trainee on placement.

A teaching practice offers fully qualified doctors, with experience in hospital medicine, the chance to learn about the personal, primary and continuing care of patients and families, undertaken in a general practice.

Work carried out during the surgery placement will also enable them to achieve the higher qualification of Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, after passing the appropriate exams.
