It’s been confirmed a Douglas care home is to shut, temporarily.
Managers at Saddle Mews say they are in the process of meeting residents and their relatives to explain what will happen at the facility.
Four Seasons Health Care, which runs the home, says the closure will be temporary, while building work is carried out.
In a statement, it says the closure will allow the home to review its position and staff, and officials from the Regulation Inspection Authority and the Department of Social Care have already been informed.
The firm says any resident who wishes to will be able to transfer to the Kings Reach care home in Ramsey.
The statement says Four Seasons Healthcare's top priority is the wellbeing of staff and residents who, it says, will be kept informed about the closure.
It says it's working with all relevant agencies who deal with residents to ensure the transition process is as smooth as possible.
