Minister urges calm over tax issue

The morality of planning taxes to pay as little as needed is an issue which is dominating the United Kingdom's political scene, after the Liberal Democrat Party conference.

Strong words were used during the gathering to describe United Kingdom residents using offshore centres like the Isle of Man for tax-planning purposes.

Manx government ministers Allan Bell and Martyn Quayle were in Liverpool for the gathering, and have been meeting members of the coalition government.

Mr Bell says talk of morality sounds alarming, but the issue needs to be discussed and viewed calmly:
