Manx Medals in Poland

The Isle of Man has won nine medals at the Special Olympics European Summer Games in Poland.

18 year old Tomas Dawe from Braddan won gold in the 100 metres and silver in the 200 metres.

Paul Clucas claimed gold in the Long Jump and silver in the 100 metres.

26 year old Jody Blaney from Union Mills took silver in the 100 metres and bronze in the Shot Put.

Andrew Richardson won silver in the Shot Put.

The other sport being contested by Manx athletes in Warsaw is Badminton where two more medals have been won in the doubles - silver for Katie Saunders and Zoe Lambie, and bronze for David Hudson and Lawrence Dyer.

Today is the final day of competition with the closing ceremony this evening - the island's medal haul is 2 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze.
