by isleofman.com 23rd September 2010

The Isle of Man will be one of the first full teams to arrive at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Many other countries have delayed their journey to India because of the reported state of the athletes village - but the Manx party is due to leave the island on Saturday morning.

Jersey and Scotland have put off their flights until next Tuesday.

Guernsey is due to make a decision about travel tomorrow.

Wales will decide today about whether to travel on Saturday.

A small party of 22 competitors from England will fly to Delhi today and report back to the rest of the team once they have seen the accommodation first hand.

Northern Ireland will travel on Monday as planned.

New Zealand and Canada are other nations who have delayed their travel plans.
