African trip 'a valuable experience'

The Isle of Man's minister for infrastructure is rejecting any claims a recent trip he made to Kenya was 'a jolly'.

Phil Gawne and fellow Rushen MHK Juan Watterson have just returned from a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association visit to the East African country.

Mr Gawne says such trips provide an opportunity to gain first hand experience of politics in other countries, and the Kenya trip was also of great value to him in his capacity as chairman of the Island's Overseas Aid Committee:
