Bus services in the south cancelled due to road works

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2010

PASSENGERS face disruption to their bus journeys from tomorrow (Thursday) due to more road works in the south of the Island.

Resurfacing and drainage improvement works on the A7 through Colby and Ballabeg will force bus routes to be cancelled through the two villages.

The section between the Glen Road and the Colby Glen Hotel will be closed from 9.30am to 3.15pm on Thursday, September 23, Friday, September 24 and Monday, September 27.

Next week the section of the A7 between Ballagawne Road and Three Roads in Ballabeg will be closed from 9.30am to 3.15pm on Tuesday, September 28 until Friday, October 1.

The Department of Infrastructure has said that the road closures are necessary because the road is too narrow to maintain a safe working area for staff on site.

Diversions will be in place during the road closures and temporary traffic signals will be used to complete the works once the narrowest sections have been finished.

School buses for Arbory and Castle Rushen will run as normal.
