A drug dealer who sold both cocaine and a fake version of the drug has been jailed for 18 months.
35-year-old Alexander Ian James Burgess appeared before Deemster Doyle at a Court of General Gaol.
He admitted supplying the drug, possessing it and offering to supply it.
Rachael Braidwood, prosecuting, said Burgess was arrested at his home in June last year after a police search uncovered cocaine and drugs paraphernalia.
When interviewed, Burgess told police he had sold cocaine as well as a fake form of the class A drug and took personal responsibility for his actions.
His advocate Dawn Jones said her client had been cooperative with police, regretted getting involved in the drugs trade and knew he would be going to prison.
Deemster Doyle said Burgess had personal difficulties which he had taken into account and the case was unusual, with strong mitigation.
Sentencing him to 18 months in prison, he warned Burgess to stay away from drugs in future.
