MORE than £11,000 has been raised at a recent charity event in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The local branch of the charity held a 65 Roses Ball, at the Mount Murray Hotel, to raise funds for research into the causes of the illness.

Alliance and Leicester International provided a champagne reception for more than 150 guests at the event.

Anthony Page from the 65 Roses Ball organising committee said: "As a charitable cause we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of local firms.

"The champagne reception was certainly very well received by all those who attended and a great start to the evening’s events."

George Campbell, community affairs manager of Alliance & Leicester International said: "We were delighted to be able to help the local branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust by providing the champagne reception at their recent ball.

"We appreciate the costs of putting on such events and hope that our contribution has allowed the charity to maximise on the funds raised."
