MORE than 140 delegates will visit the Isle of Man next week for a nursing and midwifery conference.
The Department of Health will host the 10th Annual Small Communities Conference for Nursing and Midwifery.
Delegates from Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Germany and the Isle of Man will attend for two days on September 21 and 22.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary Professor Dickon Weir-Hughes the chief executive officer and registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council will open the conference.
Professor Weir-Hughes will speak about the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s role in ensuring the safety of patients, the public and nursing practitioners.
Bev Critchlow chief nurse for the Isle of Man said: "We are pleased that our colleagues from Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar and Germany are able to spend some time with us.
"It will be a real privilege to host the Conference this year. It allows Nurses from all communities to share experiences and innovations and learn alongside each other.
"The whole aim is that they can take what they learn and put it in place in their own sphere of nursing thus improving the care they provide to patients."
