Birds of prey on display at Wildlife Park

by isleofman.com 16th September 2010

BIRDS of prey is the topic for the next meeting of the Young Friends of the Curraghs Wildlife Park.

It takes place at the Wildlife Park on Sunday, September 26 at 2pm, with everyone meeting at the schoolroom.

Young Friends will be introduced to the topic by Tina Jauncey who will bring along some of her birds.

Vern the barn owl, Chesney the harris hawk and Archie the eagle owl are all now used to being handled by Tina and introduced to the public - but exactly who appears on the day may depend on the weather and how well they have been eating in the previous few days.

The Young Friends will be able to see close-up the birds’ adaptations to hunting and finding food and discuss these in relation to other birds of prey.
