Four hundred and ten in End-to-End Walk

by isleofman.com 16th September 2010

Four hundred and ten people have entered this year's End-to-End Race Walk.

Last year's winner of 39.5 mile event from the Point of Ayre to the Sound was Michael George in a time of 6 hours, 51 minutes and 54 seconds - he defends his title having recently won the Church to Church classic event in Guernsey.

Although Parish Walk runner-up Vinny Lynch and Sean Hands are absent from this year's race on Sunday, September 26, George will face stiff competition.

The winner of the Parish for the last three years and End-to-End runner-up Jock Waddington is taking part along with local race walking legend Robbie Callister.

The race starts from the most northern point on the Island at 8am.
