Richmond Hill to close this weekend

by isleofman.com 10th September 2010

RICHMOND Hill will be closed this weekend.

The A5 will be closed to traffic from 8am tomorrow morning (Saturday) until 12am on Sunday, September 12.

From midnight on Sunday the road will reopen but will be controlled by temporary traffic signals on the section of road between Rosehill Farm and Beaconsfield Cottage.

The temporary traffic signals will operate until 8am on Saturday, September 18.

These traffic management restrictions are required to allow the Department of Infrastructure workforce to tie the new road with the existing road at the southern end of the works.

They will also be carrying out bulk earthmoving operations.

The road will be closed from Spring Valley roundabout to the Mount Murray Back Road although access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.

Businesses in the area will remain open as normal.

Warning signs have been erected to advise motorists to take alternative routes over the weekend.
