Woman used cannabis for pain relief

by isleofman.com 10th September 2010

A 62-year-old woman who grew cannabis on a patch of land at Stoney Mountain, Foxdale has been bailed by the deputy high bailiff while reports are prepared.

Susan Patricia Hidson, of Douglas Street in Castletown, admitted two offences of cultivating the substance.

The court heard police acting on information found ten plants in pots and six in the soil at the plantation.

They also discovered nine small plants in Hidson's house.

Hidson told police she grew the cannabis for her own use to give her some pain relief from arthritis.

She will appear for sentence on October 5.
