One of the best known names in Manx motorsport, former Clerk of the Course Neil Hanson, has made history this week with his role at the Manx Grand Prix.
Mr Hanson is the first Manxman to be appointed Auto-Cycle Union Steward for the Grand Prix and for an event on the mountain course.
This is his 50th Manx Grand Prix and he was also a TT official for 43 years.
The role involves chairing steward meetings, dealing with disputes and preparing a comprehensive report on the meeting for the ACU, the Governing Body for motorcycle sport in Britain.
