Second rider dies after Junior Manx Grand Prix accident

A SECOND rider died earlier today following a racing accident in the Junior Manx Grand Prix race.

 

Chris Bradshaw, 39, was involved in an incident at Alpine Cottage, on the second lap of today's Junior race shortly before 11am.

 

He was taken to Noble's Hospital by the helicopter medical team but was declared dead at the hospital.

 

Mr Bradshaw was a traffic police officer from Tamworth in Birmingham. He first competed in the Isle of Man in 2004 and finished 37th in last year's Senior Manx Grand Prix race.

 

Earlier today race organisers announced that rider James Adam, 28, a serving officer in the Royal Navy, was killed following the incident. He was declared dead at the scene.

 

Mr Adam first competed in the Isle of Man last year and finished ninth in the Newcomers race and 27th in the Senior Manx Grand Prix.

 

The next of kin of both families have been informed.

 

The incident is now being investigated by the police who are preparing a report for the coroner.
