Section of Manx Grand Prix course remains closed

PART of the Manx Grand Prix course remains closed following a fatal accident during the Junior Race.

 

The section of road between Orrisdale North and Ballaugh Bridge remains closed following the death of rider James Adam.

 

This section of road is expected to re-open between 4pm and 5pm, subject to police investigations.

 

All other roads have re-opened.

 

Mr Adam, 28, was involved at an incident at Alpine Cottage and was declared dead at the scene.

 

The race was red flagged and racing was abandoned for the day.

 

This afternoon's cancelled racing will go ahead tomorrow (Thursday).

 

Roads will close at 11.30am with racing due to start at 12.15pm. They are expected to re-open between 3pm and 4pm.
