Rider killed in Junior Manx Grand Prix race

A RIDER was killed following an accident in today's Junior Manx Grand Prix race.

 

James Adam, 28, was involved in an incident at Alpine Cottage. He was attended to by the air med team but was declared dead at the scene.

 

Mr Adam, from Prestwick in Scotland, was a a serving officer in the Royal Navy.

 

His next of kin have been informed.

 

The incident is now being investigated by police who will prepare a report for the coroner.

 

The race was red flagged and clerk of the course Phil Taubman later announced racing would be abandoned for the day.

 

The results of the race have been declared after one lap.
