'Row the Rock' crew ready for challenge

A group of intrepid oarsmen will today attempt to "Row the Rock", aiming for a world record in the process.

The 17-strong crew was all set to try and row around the Island in a Viking longboat last week, but their attempt was postponed because of bad weather.

They are set is set to leave from the outer breakwater at Peel at 1.30pm.

The feat has been achieved once before, in 1995, when members of the Viking Longboat Committee completed the journey in 27 hours.

Andy Mulhern is one of those attempting to break that record later.
