Peel resident Andy Kershaw has had some kind words for the people of the town as he promotes his return to BBC Radio 3, saying he would probably be dead without them.
But the 50-year-old is far less complimentary about the Isle of Man's authorities, who he says bullied him when he was at his most vulnerable.
In 2008 he served half of a three-month prison sentence in Victoria Road for repeatedly breaching a restraining order his ex-partner had put in place.
In numerous interviews with the British press, done to plug his new world music series for Radio 3, Music Planet, Andy Kershaw speaks candidly about his very public breakdown.
Seeming to have put his troubles completely behind him, he says he's in the best physical, mental and emotional shape he's ever been in his life.
He speaks enthusiastically about living in Peel with his son and says the Isle of Man people have been wonderfully supportive of him.
Kershaw still seems resentful of his treatment at the hands of the police and courts though, saying he, "hasn't finished with the Isle of Man authorities," who he says have continued to, "connive against him".
