An Irish airline which operates an Isle of Man route is in financial difficulty and has asked the high court there for help.
Aer Arann's case will come before the courts for a full hearing on September 8, when it is expected the company will enter examinership for a period of at least 70 days.
Examinership is a provision in Irish company law which is designed to help firms that have financial problems, but also have a reasonable prospect of survival.
In a statement last night, the company said it had incurred losses of €18 million since 2008.
It lost €6 million in both 2008 and 2009 and has already lost €6 million to date this year, primarily due to the impact of the volcanic ash disruption.
Services are expected to operate as normal during the period of examinership, and it's hoped new investors will be found.
Currently, Aer Arann has routes to Dublin and London City from Ronaldsway.
