Guitarfest extravaganza starts today

THE third annual Isle of Man GuitarFest starts today with performances from local and visiting musicians.

 

Music fans can expect to hear a wide range of guitar-based music over the weekend, both acoustic and electric.

 

This afternoon there is free music at the Villa Marina Arcade featuring some of the Island's best guitarists performing on the Peter Norris Music stage in the Villa Marina Arcade, Douglas.

 

The stage will also run tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.

 

Tonight sees a performance by top visiting musician Dan Arborise with guest support Wingin' It at the Villa Arcade, see www.iomguitarfest.com for ticket details.

 

Tomorrow night (Saturday) the acclaimed live band The Hamsters will be performing the music of Jimi Hendrix in the Royal Hall at the Villa Marina while on Sunday night The Modern Guitar Trio will be playing at the Villa Marina Arcade with local support from Liam Carter-Hawkins.

 

And there are also workshops by the artists too over the weekend which will be held at Peter Norris Music, Douglas.
