by isleofman.com 25th August 2010

AROUND £140 was stolen from a purse which had been in a handbag left on a bench in Port Jack Glen.

It happened between 3.30pm and 6pm yesterday (Tuesday).

The owner recovered the bag from a nearby hedge.

Investigating officer Constable Alan Shimmin said: "This offence was committed by an opportunist thief.

"I am particularly interested in speaking with four teenage boys aged around 14 years who were in the Glen at that time.

"One is described as having shoulder length blonde hair and was wearing light blue knee length bottoms with a floral design."

Anyone with information should ring Constable Shimmin at Braddan Police Station on 852999.
