Success of Island's GCSE students won't be known until Thursday

by isleofman.com 24th August 2010

MORE than 900 students from the Island’s five secondary schools have received their GCSE results today (Tuesday).

But the Island will have to wait until Thursday to find out how the students fared.

Due to a change in proceedings, students have received their results today (Tuesday), but the official results will not be published until this Thursday, August 27.

The change has been made to ensure that the schools and colleges can process returning students in time for the new term.

Last year the GCSE A*-G pass rate in the Island was a record high at 98.6 per cent. The proportion of students obtaining five or more higher grade GCSEs (A*-C) was 61.9 per cent, the second highest recorded.
