DAVID Stanley has joined the board of directors of Barclays Wealth Private Clients International.
He joined Barclays Wealth in February 2006 as Global Head of Offshore Financial Markets.
David has worked in the finance industry for more than 20 years, with 13 years spent at Citigroup, where he spent five years in Holland as Global Transaction Services Country Head.
Prior to his time with Citigroup, David worked in a number of banks and finance houses in both Jersey and London.
He has a first class honours degree in Banking and Finance, is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds the Institute of Investment Management Certificate.
David now heads the Intermediary and Institutional Wealth Solutions Team (IIWS), incorporating the Offshore Financial Markets business, effectively managing the top 100 intermediary and institutional clients who may have complex and specialist banking and investment requirements.
He is responsible for teams in Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, London and Switzerland, providing tailored products and services to the key market sectors and fund managers, banks, insurance companies and intermediaries in each location.
His appointment complements the current executive board of Greg Ellison, Ian Hodgkinson, Paul Savery, Simon Scott, Alex Freeman, Karl Moore, Caroline Cornish and non-executives Peter Horsthuis and a new chairman, to be announced shortly.
David said: "I am delighted to have been invited to join the Barclays Wealth Private Clients International board.
"Barclays Wealth is a major contributor to the Manx economy and the largest private sector employer on the Island. It really is a privilege for me to have this level of involvement in the future of the business."
Barclays Wealth managing director Greg Ellison said: "I am very pleased to welcome David to the Barclays Wealth board of directors.
"He brings a wealth of experience in the finance industry which helps to support our position as one of the strongest independently owned banks in the world. Myself and my fellow board members look forward to working with David in the future."
