by isleofman.com 19th August 2010

TALENTED musicians Brother Mule will be playing at the Centenary Centre in Peel, on September 11.

Brother Mule is made up of three acoustic musicians, fiddle player Brian Wicklund, mandolin player Ben Winship and bass player Eric Thorin.

The band showcases original and traditional vocals and instrumentals, spanning genres of swing, Celtic, country and acoustic funk.

Their debut recording, Big Twang, earned them the Indie Music Award’s Best Americana CD of 2005.

Brother Mule will be supported on the night by blues duo Blue John and Papa Cass.

The duo consists of ‘Blue’ John Gregory on guitar and vocals and Tim ‘Papa’ Cass on harmonica and vocals.

Inspired by both acoustic and electric blues greats, they have previously supported The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Nine Below Zero, Marcus Bonfanti, The Growling Old Men and Tony Furtado and are delighted to be on the bill with Brother Mule.
