FOR the second time in two days police are warning people not to give financial details out to "cold callers" over the phone.
It comes after they received reports local businesses have been contacted and offered an opportunity to buy advertising space in what has been described as a "police and fire" related publication.
The Isle of Man Constabulary's crime reduction officer Mike Radcliffe said: "I would wish to make it clear to the public that whilst we have previously worked in conjunction with UK based companies to produce policing related publications, the Isle of Man Constabulary is not currently producing any publications and therefore any company making such an offer is not working on our behalf and has no links to the force.
"As with all business transactions, you should never disclose any financial information during a 'cold call' telephone conversation and should request full details in writing prior to agreeing to take up any offer.
"Further advice can be obtained by contacting police headquarters on 631212 or from the Office of Fair Trading on 686500."
