Doctor's appeal for aid for flood victims

by isleofman.com 18th August 2010

The Manx public is being urged not to forget about Pakistan, as the stories about the flooding fade from the front pages of the newspapers.

Noble's Hospital consultant Dr Emran Khan comes from one of the areas which has been hardest hit, and still has family there.

United Nations estimates put the total number of people affected by the catastrophe at 20 million, and he is hoping people in the Isle of Man will donate to an aid organisation called RIPORT (play audio file):

Donations can be made by cheque to 'RIPORT flood donation 2010', and posted to 33 Farmhill Park, Douglas, IM2 2ED.
