DASH director says 'don't legalise banned drugs'

Decriminalisation of some drugs definitely wouldn't be the right way forward for the Isle of Man.

That's the view of Shelly Stanley, the director of the Island's drugs advice and service helpline DASH, after suggestions in the United Kingdom in recent months that some currently illegal substances should be permitted.

The aim would be to cut down on resources spent dealing with drug abuse, but Ms Stanley is extremely dubious about such a move and says is would be fraught with dangers:
