by isleofman.com 17th August 2010

THE Soundbites series of lunchtime concerts returns to the Villa Marina Arcade next week.

The free initiative, organised by the Isle of Man Arts Council, will run from 1pm to 2pm every day from Monday, August 23 to Friday, August 27.

The first Soundbites celebrated the refurbishment of the Villa Marina Arcade and was so successful it was repeated in August 2009 and again in March 2010.

The audiences are welcome to bring their lunch with them.

The line up for next week is:

August 23: Liam Carter-Hawkins on classical guitar

August 24: The G.A.S.P with Rockin' Blues

August 25: Steph Joyce - singer/guitarist

August 26: Strengyn - guitar and mandolin duo

August 27: Guitarfest Soundbites special

Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: "Since the Villa Marina Arcade re-opened it has become an immensley popular venue for music.

"Events such as the Wurlitzer organ, the Arts Council's Brass Band and Manx Music Seasons as well as the lunchtime Sounbites have all delighted audiences.

"For the next Soundbites sessions we hope to see some familar faces as well as welcoming anyone joining us for the first time to enjoy live music at lunchtime."
