THE Island will be visited by another cruise ship next week.

Following on from the visit of The World on August 12, the Artemis will visit the Isle of Man on Monday, August 23.

The ship, en route from Stornoway, will visit Manx waters between 9am and 5pm and will be carrying around 1135 passengers and 565 crew.

Passengers onboard will have the option of four excursions which will allow them to explore the Island.

These include trips to Castletown, Snaefell and Laxey.

Following this, the Ocean Countess will visit the Island on August 27.

The ship is under charter from the Majestic International Cruises Group and has recently undergone a £3 million refurbishment. It will be carrying 800 passengers and 350 crew.

The Ocean Countess will spend around 12 hours in Douglas, between 8am and 8pm, before travelling onwards to the Isle of Skye.

This is the second time this month that the ship has travelled to the Isle of Man. It also visited on August 1.

The last cruise ship of the month will be Le Diamant, an 8,000 ton ship which carries 226 passengers and 120 crew.

The ship will arrive at 7am on Saturday, August 28 and will depart at 6pm, en route to Fishguard.
