Isle of Man TT star Conor Cummins: I want my Ulster Grand Prix lap record back

by isleofman.com 16th August 2010

TOP motorcycle road racer Conor Cummins may still be recovering from his crash in the Senior TT but he is itching to get back racing.

Sadly for Conor, of Ramsey, his outright lap record at the Ulster Grand Prix was broken by New Zealander Bruce Anstey at the Dundrod circuit on Saturday.

On his Facebook status Conor said: "Glad it was a successful days racing for the lads at the UGP. Fair play Bruce! Hope whoever had offs are ok and can't wait to go and get my lap record back next year!"

It was Honda man Ian Hutchinson - who made history with five TT wins round the Mountain Course this year - who was once again the man on form, notching up a hat-trick of wins at the UGP.

He was only denied a fourth win in the second Superbike race of the day when he was beaten by Suzuki rider Anstey who broke the absolute lap record with an average speed of 133.977mph.

The previous lap record - held by Conor - was 133.284mph.
