New Manx Grand Prix website launched

by isleofman.com 15th August 2010

THE official website for the first ever Manx Grand Prix Festival has been launched ahead of the event.

The festival brings together four of the biggest two-wheel events in the Isle of Man’s sporting calendar including the Manx Grand Prix, Two Day Trial, Manx Classic Trial and the Vintage Motor Cycle Club’s Manx Rally.

The new website www.mgpfestival.com, includes information on travel, accommodation, entertainment and the Isle of Man, as well as having dedicated sections for each of the events.

Manx firm Duke have designed and built the website. The company also run the TT website, which attracted almost one million visits during the 2010 event.

Managing director Peter Duke said: "We are delighted to have been selected to design, build and maintain the official online presence of what I believe is one of the most exciting developments in the Manx motorsport scene for several years.

"Bringing together four enjoyable, strong events into one festival of motorcycle sport will give visitors even more to experience, as well as hopefully helping to build spectator numbers for each."

The website features a video section, photo gallery and database of information on Manx Grand Prix riders.

During the festival, reports, results and pictures will be posted online as soon as they become available.

Live commentary and timings from the Manx Grand Prix will be uploaded from the Mountain Course as the action happens. This service is free to use and does not require registration.

Mr Duke added: "The Manx Grand Prix Festival promises to be an exciting new chapter for motorsport in the Isle of Man, and I believe www.mgpfestival.com captures not only the excitement of the future, but also celebrates the unique heritage of each of these events, as well providing a one-stop information shop for everything you need to know about the festival."

The Manx Grand Prix Festival runs from August 21 to September 5.
