Business which ran Sea Terminal restaurant to go into receivership

by isleofman.com 11th August 2010

THE Longboat Restaurant and the Cafe Bar at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, have closed after the company which ran them - R C Creasey Catering Limited - ceased trading on Monday.

A statement from the Department of Infrastructure said the business, which was the department's catering concessionaire for the Sea Terminal catering facilities, will be going into receivership.

As a result of this decision the Longboat Restaurant and the Café Bar are now closed.

As an interim arrangement a temporary vending area has been set up in the Sea Terminal Departure Lounge café to provide a limited service pending appointment of a new concessionaire.

The department will shortly be advertising for expressions of interest for the catering operation.

Department of Infrastructure Acting Minister David Quirk MHK said: "The department would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the lack of catering facilities available at the Sea Terminal at the moment.

"It is obviously disappointing when any business ceases trading, in this case as well as affecting the staff that have lost their jobs there is an adverse impact on the facilities available for the public at the Sea Terminal whilst the department makes new arrangements."
