'Summer spike' in road accident statistics

A week into their summer driving campaign, police are repeating their message to motorists to take care.

Head of the Roads Policing Unit Inspector Mark Britton says accident statistics tend to show a sharp spike around August and September.

He says the Isle of Man's notoriously variable summer weather can present a number of problems for drivers if, for example, a low sun is combined with a wet road:
