SOME of the most influential heads of UK public transport visited the Isle of Man last month to discuss the transport industry.
Bus Vannin, the Island’s bus service operator, hosted the Association of Local Bus Managers (ALBM) quarterly conference, which consisted of 14 representatives from the main public transport operators in the UK.
Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure said: “Hosting this quarter’s ALBM conference was a great opportunity to share knowledge and experience. Of course, this visit also supported the conferences initiative being run by our colleagues in the Tourism Division of the Department of Economic Development.”
The conference provided the opportunity for representatives to discuss the industry, share working knowledge, sample alternative transport operator services and perform a mystery shop experience, with the intention of identifying areas of excellence and areas of improvement.
