Magic of Motown at the Villa next month

by isleofman.com 10th August 2010

CLASSIC hits from the artists synonymous with the Motown record label will be performed at the Villa Marina next month.

The Magic of Motown will be heading to the Royal Hall on Saturday, September 4.

It will feature music by The Temptations, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye and many more.

Producer Michael Taylor said: "It's the best live Motown tribute concert show on tour. It's not that it's superbly choreographed, it's not the 36 million-selling hits, it's not the dozens of dazzling costume changes featured that make it the UK's busiest production on tour. It's the fact that it faithfully reproduces that elusive Detroit sound."

The show will clock up more than 150 dates this year and it features the likes of Stop In The Name of Love, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Blame It On The Boogie and Dancing In The Street.

Michael added: "Sadly, many of the original Motown legends are either no longer with us or longer touring.

"The Magic of Motown is the nearest you'll get to authentically capturing their incredible musical legacy in a live show.

"Our young cast is able to reflect the exuberance and excitement of these songs as they were originally performed."
