Kids put off by 'boring' computer lessons

Education chiefs in the Isle of Man are looking at ways to keep children turned on to technology.

Concern has been raised in the United Kingdom that the number of students taking computing subjects at GCSE and A-level is falling, because ICT lessons are too boring.

ICT advisor for the Department of Education and Children Graham Kinrade says it's a challenge for the syllabus to keep pace with the development of IT, particularly in secondary schools.

However, when it comes to primary school children, the computer bus is a very popular and effective teaching method:
