A questionaire asking ratepayers in Onchan who should fund kerbside recycling in future, has been criticised by the politican responsible for introducing the current scheme.
A three-year government funded pilot is almost two-thirds of the way through.
Up to 80 per cent of households in Onchan have taken part, and now the local commissioners have written to residents asking if they want the service to continue, and if so, who should pay.
Dudley Butt, MLC, introduced the collection of cans, glass, paper and plastics in Onchan, Braddan and Douglas, when he was at the former Department of Local Govenrment and the Environment.
He's also an Onchan ratepayer and says he isn't impressed by the commissioners' letter:
