Firms fined for NI offences

Three companies have been ordered to pay more than ?24,000 in National Insurance by a court after failing to make the contributions on time.

Island Fixings and Fittings of Hills Meadow was ordered to pay more than ?20,000 on top of a ?750 fine.

Balla Brokers of Tower House in Douglas was fined ?300 and ordered to pay ?536, while Haven Plumbing and Heating of Port Erin was ordered to pay almost ?3,500 as well as a ?300 fine.

All three companies must pay ?125 costs after the cases were brought in Douglas Magistrates' Court by the Department of Social Care.
