Redmayne still not happy with complaints procedure

A former United Kingdom police officer says the Isle of Man's police complaints procedure still isn’t independent enough, even after politicians voted for changes.

Former Greater Manchester inspector Roy Redmayne petitioned Tynwald over the issue some years ago, eventually winning an apology from the Manx Constabulary.

A select committee eventually recommended the appointment of a fully independent police ombudsman, but that hasn't been implemented.

New rules were approved by politicians during the most recent sitting of Tynwald, but Mr Redmayne says the system still isn't independent:
