A DRIVER escaped with minor injuries after a black Mini overturned on the main Douglas to Peel road at Crosby yesterday (Sunday).

Many motorists driving home from Peel Carnival witnessed the aftermath of the accident which happened on a straight stretch of road at Woodlea Villas after the vehicle collided with a telegraph pole.

Police, ambulance, a PSV examiner, vehicle recovery and Manx Telecom staff attended the scene which led to the road being closed between 4.30pm and 7pm.

Peel police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and PC Griffiths of Peel Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed this incident or saw a black Mini in the area prior to the accident.

He has also thanked the public for their patience whilst the road was closed. PC Griffiths can be contacted at Peel Police Station Tel 631554.
