After the main agricultural events of the weekend, today (Sunday) is a family day at Great Meadow.
It’s the second day of the Southern District Agricultural Show.
Show supervisor Ray Gawne says there’ll be plenty going on – and he’s hoping for a big crowd after yesterday’s turnout.
Yesterday, Belinda and Dougie Coole’s shorthorn dairy cow – Rodway Moss Rose - of Ballamodha was crowned supreme champion.
The accolade of reserve champion went to a shire horse owned by MLC Clare Christian, while an Aberdeen Angus bull, owned by the president of the National Farmers Union Howard Quayle, was named second reserve.
