Extra time needed for popular MGP

This year's Manx Grand Prix will start an hour earlier than usual.

The first practice session, on Saturday, August 21, will commence at 5pm to accommodate the large number of debutants who have signed up for the event.

Clerk of the course Phil Taubman says he's sorry for the extra time being taken, but adds it's necessary to give all the newcomers a chance to learn the course and fulfil Auto Cycle Union criteria.

He says, on a positive note, it shows the MGP is as popular as ever:
