Dr Kishore plays down calcium concerns

The Isle of Man's senior health official says there is no need to panic over reports calcium supplements can increase the risk of heart attacks.

Director of Public Health Dr Parameswaran Kishore says a study, published in the British Medical Journal, does not conclusively prove there is a link between the pills and increased risk.

The pills are often prescribed for osteoporosis, and Dr Kishore is advising people who are taking them to contact their GP to discuss any concerns, and not jump to conclusions:
