THE Isle of Man and Manx Grand Prix GuitarFest takes place at the end of next month.
And music fans should buy their tickets before Saturday (July 31) if they want "early bird" tickets for the event.
The festival, the third annual GuitarFest, is organised by JonnoPromotions with support from the Isle of Man Arts Council and it is in assocation with Manx Radio.
It starts on Friday, August 27 with a concert by Dan Arborise, plus support act Wingin’ It, at the Villa Marina Arcade.
Tickets are £15 (concessions and earlybird tickets £12.50).
Dan Arborise has been described as “John Martyn meets Nick Drake for the 21st Century”.
Wingin' It – Danny Kyle Award Winners at Celtic Connections 2007 – are Adam Bulley (from The Southern Tenant Folk Union) on mandolin and guitar and Chas MacKenzie on guitars.
On Saturday, August 28, at the Royal Hall in the Villa Marina, The Hamsters play Jimi Hendrix with special guest support. Tickets are £20 (concessions and early bird tickets £15).
This gig is the start of The Hamsters’ Jimi Hendrix 40th Anniversary Memorial Tour and the band have been described by Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris as "fabulous: one of Britain's very best live bands".
On Sunday, August 29 The Modern Guitar Trio featuring Roland Chadwick, with local support Liam Carter-Hawkins, will perform in the Villa Marina Arcade. Tickets are £14 (concessions and early bird tickets £12)
Festival tickets are available at £36.50 (or £34.50 concessions/early bird) for all three concerts.
There will be free music from many local guitarists and bands on the Peter Norris Music Stage in the Villa Marina Arcade on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday daytime of the festival.
Plus there will be workshops by Roland Chadwick, Dan Arborise, Adam Bulley and Chas MacKenzie at Peter Norris Music during the weekend.
