by isleofman.com 23rd July 2010

The Isle of Man has paid its respects to the Island’s first Deemster Michael Kerruish.

An estimated 600 mourners attended a moving ceremony at a packed Lonan Parish Church on Friday.

The service, led by Lord Bishop Robert Paterson and Archdeacon Brian Smith, was also relayed to hundreds outside.

The eulogy was given by Mike Kerruish’s son Daniel and there were readings from Lieutenant Governor Sir Paul Haddacks and former bishop Graeme Knowles, as well as a tribute from his legal colleague Geoffrey Tattersall.
